Reflections On What Has Gone Well
Reflections On What Needs Improvement
I said to Ken, “if you really knew me, you would know that I set such a high bar for myself that I never meet it and so I’m never happy.” This is not the intention of setting the bar — the bar should be achievable so that one can feel the satisfaction of achieving success. This needs to change. I spoke with my mother, too, on the topic of “album” and how nothing is happening. She said, “just play around in the music room, why does it have to be this big goal?” Same idea, different angle.
Reflections On How to Make Improvements
I’m going to do a couple of things:
- Map out capacity (add up all hours available over the course of a week) against Inventory of all regular/non-list tasks that I take on
- Mentally switch to “areas of focus” — the “high bar” issues are generally about things that aren’t on the list (ie, general projects/tasks). Refocus on those areas of focus ONLY as there isn’t enough energy to go around.
